=> THE blog devoted to news and commentary on the most iconic bird in American ornithology, the Ivory-billed Woodpecker (IBWO)... and... sometimes other schtuff.

Just saw Dr. Hill's Ivory-bill book (Ivorybill Hunters: The Search for Proof in a Flooded Wilderness) in stock at a local Borders Bookstore.

That's funny...I just got an email from Amazon last week letting me know that my PREORDERED copy would not be available as promised. I didn't save the email after I canceled my order, but I thought they said the release date had been pushed back another month. I checked my local B+N and Borders this morning and couldn't find a copy there either. Now Amazon shows it as In Stock and ready to ship. One more oddity in the IBWO saga.

I've heard from other people with similar stories or otherwise unable to find it, so not sure what's going on. I actually only saw one copy on a shelf at Borders which I bought and assumed they had more elsewhere. But didn't see it in either Barnes & N. or Waldens when I stopped by those outlets. Maybe I'm in some sort of Twilight Zone episode in which this lone copy mystically made its way to Cyberthrush...!
